Photo courtesy of Hotel Maya.<\/em><\/p>\n While the Hotel Maya is already Long Beach’s destination for relaxing stay-cations and stylish parties\u2014Mayor Robert Garcia even hosted his election party there in April\u2014it just got even swankier with the addition of a new event room they’re calling Lagunita.<\/p>\n The 6,400 squre-foot event venue is inspired by a “majestic Mayan temple,” and includes views of the Pacific Ocean, Long Beach skyline and the Queen Mary, Hotel Maya representatives said.<\/p>\n The venue will continue to get its final touches through the holidays, but many of its features\u2014like a cathedral-style ceiling that will eventually frame five glistening, oversized chandeliers\u2014are already up. The ceiling is complemented by 13-feet-tall floor-to-ceiling glass walls that open to panoramic views of the waterfront and the city.<\/p>\n Lagunita, designed by Los Angeles-based Choura Events, can host 600 guests for standing receptions, 400 guests with a dance floor and seat guests up to 450 in rounds and 350 classroom-style.<\/p>\n Together, Lagunita and Vista del Mar, an outdoor event area at the hotel, can host more than 1,000 guests for standing receptions.
