Some dozen girls with bright blue and green hair walked through the doors of the Frida Cinema in Santa Ana last Friday, while a lone curly mopped young man stood in the corner of the theater with a bass guitar strapped to his side.<\/p>\n

Lasers beamed in the venue and attendees sang along to rock songs about finding true love and the struggles of finding it\u2014including battling evil exes.<\/p>\n

\"ScottPilgrim02\"The Frida Cinema’s showing of the 2nd annual “Scott Pilgrim<\/em> Picture Show,” presented by CinemAttack!, was a comic book reader’s dream. The 2010 film was presented in a Rocky Horror Picture Show<\/em>-style, full of audience participation and costumes.<\/p>\n

A sold-out crowd of 300 fans, like the ones mentioned above, came dressed as Scott Pilgrim, his love interest Ramona Flowers or one of her seven evil ex-boyfriends, who Scott must battle in the movie before winning over Ramona’s affections.<\/p>\n

As Scott would defeat the ex-boyfriends, the audience would mimick what was happening on-screen and toss gold coins up in the air.<\/p>\n

Unlike last year’s screening, Friday’s showing did not include any live bands, which would have brought a more 4D feel to the movie. However, fans didn’t seem to care as they sang along karaoke style to songs like “Garbage Truck” and “Black Sheep.”<\/p>\n

CinemAttack’s next screening at the Frida, located at 305 East 4th Street in Santa Ana, will be a <\/em>Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Pizza Party on November 7 at 7:30PM, with a showing of the original 1990 film.
