\u201cGet Lit\u201d Party on Pine<\/strong><\/a>: Kick off the weekend with a party unlike any other. Pine Avenue between 4th<\/sup> and 6th<\/sup> street will be closed off to vehicle traffic for a glowing street party extravaganza, featuring bubble soccer (it\u2019s like soccer except you are wearing a giant inflatable ball on the upper half of your body), beer pong, DJs spinning tunes, a roller disco, and more. \u201cGet Lit\u201d will take place this Friday, September 19th<\/sup>, from 7pm to 9:30pm.<\/p>\n US Coastal Cleanup Day<\/strong><\/a>: I\u2019m sure beach cleanups are not the first thing that comes to mind when you think of \u201cfun,\u201d but every year Coastal Clean Up Day brings neighbors and friends together to make our beaches beautiful and it ends up being a good time for everyone. You can help out the traditional way by bringing your gloves and trash bags to the beach, or if you want a more adventurous clean up (and if you are scuba certified) you can participate in the Alamitos Bay Underwater Cleanup<\/a>.<\/p>\n US Sumo Open<\/strong><\/a>: If you’ve never seen a live Sumo wrestling match, you won\u2019t want to miss the US Opens of Sumo which are taking place at the Pyramid on the Cal State Long Beach Campus. This tournament will feature over 100 matches with the top Sumo athletes from all over the world. The event will run from 1pm-4pm Saturday the 20th<\/sup>, and tickets are available online<\/a>.<\/p>\n Pirate Festival<\/strong><\/a>: If a pirate’s life be more your style, then ye should partake in the Pirate Festival at Shoreline Village. There will be sword fighting, pirate games, fire dancers, bands playing songs from the high seas, and fun for the little ones. The festival be free if ye are bold enough to join in the fun this Saturday the 20th<\/sup>, from 1:00pm to 7:00 pm, and Sunday the 21st<\/sup>, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.<\/p>\n Sustainable Sunday<\/strong><\/a>: As part of the Los Cerritos Wetlands Land Trust\u2019s second annual event, the documentary Watershed<\/em> will be shown at the Art Theatre this Sunday.
