Photo courtesy the San Pedro Fish Market.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The San Pedro Fish Market&#8217;s second annual Shrimpfest seafood celebration returns Saturday, Oct. 22 with heaps of seafood, drink specials, live entertainment and its main event: a shrimp eating contest.<\/p>\n<p>The event will feature large plates of some of the restaurant&#8217;s most popular items, such as its World Famous Shrimp Tray, Chowda Fries, fried calamari, fried shrimp, beer-battered fish and more. Drink specials include $3 bottles of Corona and Modelo, $7 draft beers and other discounts on alcoholic beverages. The Happy Hour menu will also be served all day.<\/p>\n<p>If you see cameras around during the event, those belong to a documentary crew who are shooting the docuseries &#8220;Kings of Fi$h,&#8221; chronicling four generations of the San Pedro Fish Market families.<\/p>\n<p>Entry to the festival costs $5 and does not include food. Courtesy image.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Former Bellator fighter and mixed martial artist Eugene Correa, a Long Beach native, is returning to the ring for the first time in two years at the Commerce Casino for the Urijah Fabers A1 Combat tournament on Saturday, Oct. 22.<\/p>\n<p>Correa the &#8220;Conquistador&#8221; is going up against David &#8220;Tarzan&#8221; Douglas from Antioch in the catchweight division. Photo courtesy Obscura LB.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Back for a second year at the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA), the Halloween-themed craft beer festival Halloween Hootenanny returns Saturday, Oct. 22.<\/p>\n<p>Over 40 independent craft breweries, cideries, wineries and hard kombucha makers will be available on-site to sample, plus food from local restaurants such as Shady Grove and Hamburger Nice.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees can also shop from a &#8220;macabre marketplace&#8221; featuring over 15 vendors selling art, books, clothing and other Halloween-centric merchandise.<\/p>\n<p>Guests must be 21 years or older to attend. General admission tickets start at $50 and include unlimited sample pours and a complimentary commemorative souvenir tasting glass. VIP tickets cost $70 and offer one-hour early entry (noon) as well as unlimited sample pours and a commemorative souvenir glass. The event is open to both adults and children. Courtesy photo.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lbma.org\/visit\/\">Long Beach Museum of Art<\/a>&#8216;s newest exhibition presents a collection of works by artist<a href=\"https:\/\/www.brentestabrook.com\/\"> Brent Estabrook<\/a> titled &#8220;Creature Comforts.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The dental surgeon-turned-painter is best known for his large-scale oil paintings depicting furry, plush toys and stuffed animals, evoking sentiments of innocence and nostalgia. They&#8217;re also just a dazzling display of color.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition, which opens publicly Sunday, Oct. 23, features over 20 pieces from his career over the years and some never-before-seen works. Those who would like to meet the artist and learn more about his work may also RSVP to a VIP sneak-peek on Saturday, Oct. 22, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brentestabrook.com\/rsvp-lbma\">click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Creature Comforts&#8221; will be up at the museum until Feb. 12.
