This year\u2019s competitors include Long Beach\u2019s Bearcoon<\/strong>, the self-described \u201cHillbilly Mountain Blues Lumberjack Rock\u201d duo that is Solange Igoa and Andrea Walker; Darryl Mapp\u2019s back-of-the-truck blues band that is Classic<\/strong>; pro-skater gone jazzy guitarist\/bassist\/drummer\/harper\/xylophoner\/badass Ray Barbee<\/strong>; punk-hop outfit Ghetto Blaster$<\/strong>; folk-tinged and bluegrass-y Jesse Daniel Edwards<\/strong>; Long Beach (by way of Echo Park) \u201cdream punk\/pop pop\u201d get-up So Many Wizards<\/strong>; the CSULB-founded rock band that is Thy Squid<\/strong>; unsigned-but-awesome just-rock group The Moderates<\/strong>; and last but certainly not least is Hanlin, Jones, and Ricky IV<\/strong> (Hanlin hails from Long Beach’s roadhouse blues warriors The Dibs & Bourbon Jones<\/strong> while Jones is best known as the frontman of his band The Suffering Halos<\/strong>, both of whom have joined Chicago’s cellist\/bassist\/songwriter\/vocalist guru Ricky IV).<\/p>\nEven better? The all-new jam session set as a finale featuring the aforementioned Buskerfest winners Fathers & Suns joining the theatre troupe that rocks, RiotStage!\u2014with all competing bands encouraged to join in. Rumor has is that The Ziggens<\/strong> and Eastern Conference Champions<\/strong> might be joining in on the jam sesh as well.<\/p>\nOne can only hope but to say the least, we are so ready.<\/p>\n
