The holidays are stacked with gatherings of friends and family and making individual cocktails can be a bit laborious so this year I decided to take the plunge into making a holiday punch.<\/p>\n
Do you love apple cider, citrus and bourbon? Well, this drink is for you. Even if you don\u2019t like those things, I suggest you at least try it.<\/p>\n
This recipe popped up on my Instagram feed from the New York Times and I forwarded it to a few friends because it sounded delicious. Cinnamon simple syrup, apple cider, bourbon, orange juice. It presented as a perfect drink to walk around the Naples canals to see Christmas decorations with\u2014it was.<\/p>\n
Making the punch is pretty simple. I used a mixing bowl to combine the simple syrup, bourbon, apple cider, lemon juice, orange juice before letting it chill for an hour in the refrigerator. After the chilling process, you add in some soda water and serve it over ice with an orange wedge and cinnamon.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s a bit boozy, but if you\u2019re a bourbon drinker that shouldn\u2019t shock you or turn you away. It does have balance, though, and the recipe yields about 14 six-ounce servings, so it\u2019s a practical choice for holiday gatherings.<\/p>\n
