This year would have marked its sixth year running, with the DLBA partnering with the 1st District Office as always to put on the event together.<\/p>\nWhen the Downtown Long Beach Association (DLBA) discreetly informed the public that they would not be hosting the Latin American Parade and Festival, questions arose as to why the popular event\u2014which saw thousands of festival goers last year\u2014was a no-go for 2014.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, we do not have the resources to produce it this year and I am not sure if the 1st District does either,\u201d said Julie Korinke of the DLBA.<\/p>\n
Fear not, though: the Queen Mary has decided to take on the event in the form of a food and music festival set for 2015.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are still ironing out what our 2015 calendar is going to look like at this point,\u201d said Steve Sheldon, Director of Entertainment Events at the Queen Mary, \u201cbut we are definitely pursuing it. Most likely the event will occur May, June or July.\u201d<\/p>\n
