Guilty-pleasure television connoisseurs and collectors alike can rejoice at the fact that The Old Man, Rick, Big Hoss, and Chumlee\u2014the stars of the reality TV show Pawn Stars<\/em>\u2014might take a gander at what Long Beach has to offer their store as the casting team coming to the Long Beach Coin, Currency, Stamp & Sports Collectibles Expo<\/a> this weekend.<\/p>\n

\"pawn2\"“The Pawn Stars are always on the lookout for sellers of unique and interesting historical items,\u201d said said Martin Hardy, Casting Director of Pawn Stars<\/em>. \u201cIf you have a rare item that you want to sell or pawn, this could be your chance to be part of the show and eventually have Rick, Corey or ‘The Old Man’ assess your valuable items and make you an offer you can\u2019t refuse.\u201d<\/p>\n

The reality show\u2014known for its Antiques Roadshow<\/em>-gone-Duck Dynasty<\/em>\u2014is set within and around the Harrison Family\u2019s Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, having been in operation since 1989. The family wasn\u2019t unknown to the television world before it scored rankings gold with Pawn Stars<\/em>: it was the subject of a 2001 PBS documentary and their store\u2019s ongoings were pitched to HBO as a replacement for the outgoing Taxicab Confessions<\/em> in 2006.<\/p>\n

Now, the family is hoping that Long Beach can provide them with something of value, be it sports memorabilia, coins, stamps, antiques, autographs, or any other collectible that might have a nice price tag attached to it.<\/p>\n

“Casting representatives from Leftfield Pictures will talk with visitors about vintage items they might want to consign or sell at the famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas,” said Long Beach Expo President Cassi East. \u201cSellers of all types of historical items are encouraged to come meet the casting director and producer. This will be an exciting opportunity for anyone to bring in items for evaluation and for a possible appearance on a future Pawn Stars<\/em> episode.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Long Beach Expo be held in the Long Beach Convention Center, located at 100 S. Pine Avenue,  runs through Saturday, June 7.<\/em><\/p>\n
