Have you ever seen a giant beer barrel on wheels? How about one that flips down its staves to reveal bar taps and rolls around the country setting up in front of beer bars and at other special events?<\/p>\n

The Bend, Ore.-based brewery Deschutes owns one such mobile apparatus, named Woody, that the company sends on promotional missions throughout the West Coast and this week, the anomaly will again be rolling into Long Beach for a series of beer-themed events that go beyond the basic pint night. <\/p>\n

Tonight, the Deschutes team will be at Lazy Acres Market in Los Altos for a tapas and beer pairing with the chefs at Lazy Acres. Flagship Deschutes beers like Mirror Pond Pale, Black Butte Porter and Chainbreaker White IPA will be on tap for the $20 event.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow, Descutes officials say that Woody will be rolling through Long Beach neighborhoods in anticipation of Friday’s official events, both of which will take place downtown. <\/p>\n

At Congregation–where Woody will be posted up<\/a> on the Promenade from 4PM to 11PM–pints of six Deschutes beers will be on tap along with food pairing specials and giveaways throughout the evening; and down the street at Federal Bar, Deschutes is hosting a beer-lesque show cheekily called “Tastings and Tassles” where burlesque dancers will use beers from the brewery in each of their performances. <\/p>\n
