Photos courtesy of King Kong Studio.<\/em><\/p>\n Cal State Long Beach (CSULB)\u2019s Cambodian Student Society (CSS) will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of their annual cultural show that spans music, history, dance, martial arts and performance.<\/p>\n The rich Cambodian culture of Long Beach offers an easy platform for CSS to play off of with their event, which uses a vast amount of efforts\u2014from screenwriting to stage prop production\u2014to create what is the longest-running Cambodian culture show in the States. This year\u2019s presentation, dubbed \u201cThe Never-Ending Battle,\u201d is only one of two student organizations to perform at CSULB\u2019s famed Carpenter Center.<\/p>\n As part of next month’s Cambodian New Year celebration, the event incorporates over 100 high school and college students performing. In addition to CSS members showing off their performance chops, Khmer Arts Academy and Sprit of Khmer Angkor of Cambodian Association of America will also perform a classical Cambodian dance piece.<\/p>\n \u201cI hope the theme, [The Never-Ending Battle], really resonates with the audience in a way that can apply to their lives,\u201d said Dennis Son, director of the show. \u201cI feel like the theme of strength relates to not only Khmer people but also people of all cultures.\u201d<\/p>\n The Never-Ending Battle will be performed on Saturday, March 29, at the Carpenter Center located at 6200 E Atherton Street. Doors open at 6PM; the show begins at 6:30PM. Tickets are $10 (pre-paid) and $12 (at the door).
