{"id":379,"date":"2018-11-15T16:19:43","date_gmt":"2018-11-16T00:19:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/?p=999927270"},"modified":"2018-11-15T16:19:43","modified_gmt":"2018-11-16T00:19:43","slug":"snoop-dogg-star-dr-dre-quincy-jones-hollywood-walk-of-fame","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/esd\/hi-lo\/music\/snoop-dogg-star-dr-dre-quincy-jones-hollywood-walk-of-fame","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Dre and Quincy Jones to present Snoop Dogg with star on Hollywood Walk of Fame"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just before <a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/life\/music\/snoop-dogg-play-musical-long-beach\/\">Long Beach gets to finally experience Snoop Dogg&#8217;s &#8220;Redemption of a Dogg,&#8221;<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/a>\u00a0his stage musical that both uses his music and tells the tale of a character eerily Snoop-like, the\u00a0Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced that the Long Beach rapper will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.<\/p>\n<p>With the honor set to take place two days after appearing in Long Beach for &#8220;Redemption&#8221;\u00a0on Nov. 19, Snoop will be recognized in the recording category and mark\u00a0the 2,651st star on the Walk.<\/p>\n<p>His star will be installed in front of the \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!\u201d building at\u00a06840 Hollywood Blvd., where Kimmel himself will be on hand to honor Snoop. This follows what some have called Snoop Dogg\u2019s \u201creturn home&#8221; era that has prompted the creation of things that are seemingly out of the ordinary for a kid who was raised in the epicenter of local gang life during the late 80s and 1990s:\u00a0He went back to church with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/4zeITicw3oKpOV5EMQIUQH\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a gospel album<\/a>\u00a0(and won an award for it).
