The festival itself is part of a larger project&#8211;the A LOT of Zombies and Robots program&#8211;funded in part by the Arts Council of Long Beach and the National Endowment for the Arts.<\/p>\n<p>Guts &amp; Bolts (G&amp;B) now joins the QFilm Festival and the Cambodia Town Film Festival in September, with G&amp;B showcasing films that are under five minutes and&#8211;most importantly, blood and metal lovers&#8211;contain either a zombie&#8211;guts!&#8211;or a robot&#8211;bolts!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignright size-full wp-image-25258\" src=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/guts_n_bolts1.jpg\" alt=\"guts n bolts1\" width=\"300\" height=\"263\" style=\"float: right;\" \/>&#8220;Over the last few years I&#8217;ve collaborated with both Sander [Roscoe Wolff] and Sumako [of Toaster Music] on various multimedia projects, from music to live art to fashion,&#8221; said Long Beach Cinematheque founder and Executive Director Logan Crow. &#8220;And when Sander told me he had a concept for a short film fest collaboration between his band Toaster Music and the Cinematheque&#8217;s Zombie Walk event, I was all ears.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As submissions continue to be accepted through August 9, a jury will select their top fifteen short films. That list will be announced September 7 and the films screened on September 20. Three films will be honored: one with an Audience Award, one with a Jury Award, and a final selection with an Online Award; these winners will also have their films screened on October 26 at the 6th Annual Zombie Walk Long Beach.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s been thrilling to already have received a lot of interest and inquiries in the short time since we launched our call for films,&#8221; continued Crow. &#8220;Everything from &#8216;Are trailers welcome?&#8211;yes!&#8211;to &#8216;Can the film have both a robot AND a zombie?&#8217;&#8211;yes!&#8211;to &#8216;Can filmmakers who don&#8217;t live in Long Beach submit their films?&#8211;yes!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>To submit:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Visit:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/lbcinema.org\/gbsff\/\">http:\/\/lbcinema.org\/gbsff\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li>All submissions must be received by 5PM on August 9th.<\/li>\n<li>Submissions must be less than five minutes in length (no minimum length), and must contain either a robot or a zombie, or both. No other content criteria; all genres and styles welcome!<\/li>\n<li>Submissions should be posted on YouTube, with a minimum resolution of 720i.<\/li>\n<li>Once uploaded, complete Submission Form below, where you will provide YouTube link to film.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>DONATE<\/strong> icon at bottom of page to submit $5 submission fee to Long Beach Cinematheque.<\/li>\n<li>Filmmakers are encouraged to share their videos and garner likes\/thumbs up \u2013 Online Audience Award will be given to the film with the most likes\/thumbs up.<\/li>\n<li>All videos\/YouTube links will be featured on event sites promoting festival, including but not limited to Long Beach Cinematheque and Long Beach Zombie Walk Music and Art Festival websites.<\/li>\n<li>For the purposes of fairness in voting, YouTube link where film is featured must not be any older than June 1, 2013.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>The Guts &amp;
