Hazel<\/strong>\u2019s owner dropped her off at the shelter and insisted he wasn\u2019t Hazel\u2019s owner. Since Hazel is no longer living with that paragon of responsibility, she\u2019s yours, if you want to give a forever <\/em>home to a loving little 4-year-old spayed female Chihuahua-something. Ask for ID#A459406.<\/p>\n This 8-week-old female black kitten<\/strong> with the little white spot under her chin was running around downtown long beach. She\u2019s sweet and friendly; she\u2019ll need to be spayed to stop her particular cycle. She\u2019s very sweet with people and gets along with small dogs and cats but doesn\u2019t care for big dogs. Ginger is food aggressive, so she needs to be fed separately from other animals. She was a shelter dog, and we think that her former owner didn\u2019t play with her, as Ginger has no idea how to play. Her name’s Ivory<\/strong>, and our rescuer says that her family is tired of her and doesn’t want her anymore now that she isn’t a puppy. She’s loving and sweet, and–just look at the face.\u00a0\u00a0Ivory may not have much time. She’s only 2 and deserves a good life. Willow St., Long Beach, 6\u2013PM<\/strong><\/p>\n The Seal Beach Animal Care Center (SBACC) opened its doors in 1988 with 12 dog runs and a small cat room. Today, there are 18 dog runs and a separate building for the cats\u2014the Helen Sanders Cat Facility\u2014and it\u2019s all based on grass-roots humane philosophy, volunteerism and donations and is motivated by an unselfish, strong love for animals. SBACC plans a most festive gala affair to celebrate these efforts and to raise funds to ensure their continuance. Live music will be provided by the Emperors, and every guest will be entered in a drawing to win a vacation package. Special guest MC will be none other than TV and radio personality Bob Eubanks, host of Newlywed Game. <\/em>Tickets are $150 per person; registration closes May 15. Our 19th annual Benefit for the Animals at the Long Beach Playhouse begins at 6:30 p.m. with a reception featuring\u2014oh, feed me, I\u2019m hungry!\u2014a delicious selection of finger foods, with coffee and cookies at intermission, and tuneful pre-musical music by our favorite pianist, Ralph Brunson.
