Some of the furry lobbyists at the mayor\u2019s fourth Kitty Hall saw their petitions fulfilled. Four rescues\u2014Long Beach Animal Care Services<\/a> and its adoption satellite at Pet Food Express, spcaLA<\/a>, Helen Sanders CatPAWS<\/a> and Long Beach Spay & Neuter Foundation<\/a>\u2014participated in the event and sent 33 cats home, including adults, seniors and kittens who\u2019ll go to their new families after they\u2019ve been spayed or neutered. Even better, there are adoptions-in-waiting that\u2019ll take place after hubby or wifey or landlordie gives the OK and the applications have been approved.<\/p>\n

The German shepherds in the video were brought to the shelter in March. It\u2019s not clear whether they\u2019re related, but they\u2019re both seniors. Nothing cheeses many of us off more than hearing about pets who\u2019ve been with their humans all these years and are unexpectedly (in their eyes) separated from them. Forever. It may have been unavoidable, but the dogs don\u2019t know that.<\/p>\n

Abijah<\/strong> (ID#A623007<\/a>) is a 10-year-old neutered male, and Jesse<\/strong> (#A427987<\/a>) is a 13-year-old spayed female, and they\u2019re both social, gentle and kind. Do you know someone who could spring them so that they can spend their sunset years the way they\u2019re supposed to? You, maybe? You won\u2019t regret it. The shelter is located at 7700 E. Paw Tenders Memorial Walk for Jess Bingaman:\u00a0<\/strong>Saturday, June 15, 10:00 a.m.\u2013noon, Shoreline Village, 401-435 Shoreline Village Dr., Long Beach, free<\/p>\n

Friends and supporters of popular dog walker Jess Bingaman will honor her through a \u201cpack walk\u201d from Shoreline Village to the Queen Mary and back, approximately five miles. Bingaman and five dogs she was tending were killed when a driver fleeing from police plowed into them with his vehicle<\/a>. The organizers welcome participants with or without dogs to join the walk. Walkers are advised to bring water and snacks and wear walking shoes. Dogs must be on leashes and kept at a respectable distance from other dogs.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the strongest foundations built between us and the dogs we work with is through a pack walk,\u201d wrote Yasmeen Zenni on the Facebook page dedicated to the walk<\/a>. \u201cSo I thought what better way to honor and thank Jessie for her hard work and dedication by participating in a calm pack walk at a place she loved and frequented the most.<\/p>\n
