South Street.&nbsp;This is a free four-hour training focused on understanding and analyzing the community factors that shape health, safety, and equity.<\/p>\n<p>This training will also provide information on how to develop comprehensive strategies in the areas of healthy eating and active living.<\/p>\n<p>Topics include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How to create environments that prevent illness and injury in the first place.<\/li>\n<li>Successful examples from across the state and around the country of efforts to improve healthy eating and active environments, policy and practices.<\/li>\n<li>Introducing and applying Prevention Institutes&#8217;s nationally recognized tools.<\/li>\n<li>Creating a dialogue among participants about current successes and challenges, opportuniies, and innovative strategies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This training is open to all residents who want to get involved in out 9th District Captain program.&nbsp;Lunch, child care, and interpretation will be provided.<\/p>\n<p>To RSVP please contact the 9th District Council Office at 562-570-6137&nbsp;or e-mail <a href=\"mailto:district9@longbeach.gov.\">district9@longbeach.gov.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reservations are being taken for the 9th District Captain Training this Saturday from 9:00am to 1:00pm at the North Long Beach Community Center located at 2311 E.
