6:00am | <\/strong>The public is invited to a free “Let’s Move Long Beach” health and wellness fair (complete with zumba dancing) this Saturday from 10:00am to 2:00pm at 604 Pine Ave.  <\/p>\n

The wellness fair will feature more than 40 vendors of healthy and active living, a climbing wall, a bike rodeo and a free zumba class that begins at 11:00am. Zumba is a popular fitness program inspired by Latin dance with aerobic elements.<\/p>\n

On February 7, 2012, the Long Beach City Council unanimously approved<\/a> the creation of the Let’s Move<\/em> Long Beach Initiative. The City of Long Beach has been making efforts on many fronts to promote healthy lifestyles, including policies and programs to improve healthy food and beverage options and active living, walkability assessments, and more. <\/p>\n

The event is made possible due to community partners such as the Molina Heatlhcare, Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, St Mary Medical Center, The Children’s Clinic, Centro Cha, and Mecca Fitness. A new website<\/a> will provide on-going information on how to stay healthy and active, as well as a calendar of local events to help encourage the fun. <\/p>\n
