12:46pm | <\/strong>The Long Beach Police Department has announced<\/a> it will be conducting a citywide driving under the influence (DUI) saturation patrol targeting impaired drivers on Saturday, December 31, 2011, from 8:00pm to 4:00am the next morning. <\/p>\n

Instead of risking a DUI (or worse), catch a ride to the next party, your favorite watering hole, or home with Long Beach Pedaler Society<\/a>, Long Beach’s first and only pedal-cab company. Pedal-cabs provide a safe and fun alternative to driving on New Year’s Eve, or any night of the year. <\/p>\n

The Pedalers will be available in Downtown, Belmont Shore, and Naples<\/a>. Rides cost only $1 per 1\/10th of a mile, with a $3 minimum, no curb fee, and no red light fees. Call dispatch at 562-980-1861 to request a pick-up, or hail them on the street.<\/p>\n
