3:15pm | <\/strong>The American Institute of Architects Long Beach\/South Bay will feature lecturer Gregorio Luke, former director of the Museum of Latin American Art, discussing the work of Mexican architect Luis Barrag\u00e1n Morfin.<\/p>\n

Barrag\u00e1n, who lived from 1902 to 1988, is one of Mexico\u2019s most influential 20th century architects. Affecting the Modernist movement, he is known for such projects as the 1945 Jardines del Pedregal<\/a> and the 1967 San Crist\u00f3bal Estates<\/a> equestrian development in Mexico City.<\/p>\n

The meeting is on November 17 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm at Banning Landing in Wilmington, 100 Water St.; it is open to AIA members as well as the public. Doors open at 6:30pm and the lecture is at 7:45pm. Tickets are $25 for embers, $35 for non-members, and $10 for students.
