{"id":4999,"date":"2011-09-15T12:22:00","date_gmt":"2011-09-15T12:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lbpost.com\/articles\/life\/construction-begins-on-the-queen-mary-s-dark-harbor-halloween-mazes\/"},"modified":"2011-09-15T12:22:00","modified_gmt":"2011-09-15T12:22:00","slug":"construction-begins-on-the-queen-mary-s-dark-harbor-halloween-mazes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/esd\/hi-lo\/construction-begins-on-the-queen-mary-s-dark-harbor-halloween-mazes","title":{"rendered":"Construction Begins on the Queen Mary\u2019s Dark Harbor Halloween Mazes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>10:39am | <\/strong>Construction is underway on Dark Harbor, the Queen Mary\u2019s annual Halloween haunt event.&nbsp; Dark Harbor takes advantage of the ship\u2019s haunted history and nautical setting with mazes on the ship and shore. <\/p>\n<p>Work began recently on all five of Dark Harbor\u2019s mazes, \u2018The Village of the Damned,\u2019 \u2018Submerged,\u2019 \u2018Containment,\u2019 \u2018Hellfire\u2019 and \u2018The Cage.\u2019 The ship\u2019s yard also received a delivery of cargo containers for the construction of \u2018Hell\u2019s Bells Tower,\u2019 the flame-shooting 33-foot tall centerpiece of Dark Harbor.<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>Now in its 17th year, the Queen Mary Halloween event was known as Shipwreck until 2010, when the theme of the event was overhauled. \u201cWe are having fun with every maze and coming up with numerous changes and enhancements in themes,\u201d said Director David Wally. \u201cPlus, we\u2019ll have 20 percent more performers this year, which means more scares for guests and even more bang for the buck.\u201d<br \/>&nbsp; <br \/>The Queen Mary\u2019s Dark Harbor will be open October 7-9; 14-16; 20-23; and 27-31 from 7 p.m. to midnight. Ticket and group discounts start at $20 online at <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.queenmary.com\/dark-harbor\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.queenmary.com\/dark-harbor<\/a>. \u2018Fast Fright\u2019 front-of-the-line passes are available in limited quantities online and at the door. Additionally, a special Dark Harbor dinner menu will be available for purchase online.
