5:55pm | <\/strong>The Gay and Lesbian Center of Greater Long Beach will celebrate its second annual Summer Beach Bash at Alfredo\u2019s Beach House on Aug. 6. 
<\/span>
The event, which runs from 5  to 10 p.m., begins with a Sunset Happy Hour from 5 to 7 p.m. and will then feature a barbecue dinner followed by dancing and music. A local DJ will spin tunes for the guests, who will also have the opportunity to participate in a raffle for prizes.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis event was such a success last year that we have decided to bring it back again this summer,\u201d said The Center Board Chairman Ron Sylvester. \u201cWe originally created it as a more casual and budget-friendly alternative to a much more formal gala, and it\u2019s quickly becoming an annual signature event for The Center.\u201d

Tickets are available at CenterLB.org<\/a> and are $50 pre-sale or $60 at the door. The ticket price covers all food, drinks and entertainment. All proceeds from the Beach Bash will go toward supporting the programs and services offered at The Center. <\/span><\/p>\n

Sponsors for the event include Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride and Budweiser as beverage sponsors, media sponsors Rage Monthly<\/em> and BLADE<\/em> magazines, and community sponsor LGB2Network, Long Beach\u2019s networking group for LGBT professionals. The Center\u2019s Beach Bash is produced by Elisa McConnehea of Versatile Events.
