River Music Armada tour, which ended up having less canoeing than planned when the band was cited for trying to canoe down the L.A. River to Long Beach (read about that <a><\/a><a>here<\/a>), are about to return north of the border.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">\n<p class=\"p1\">But before they do, they are having a big goodbye weekend. It starts bright and early Friday morning (April 8), when the band must appear in court to answer their citations for trying to navigate our navigable river \u2014 which, as far as they can tell, haven’t even been filed with the courts, although no one can or will give them a straight answer. Ah, American jurisprudence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">\n<p class=\"p1\">Friday night the band will be at the <a><\/a><span><span><a>Fretted Frog<\/a><\/span> \/ <\/span><a><\/a><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.echoparkfilmcenter.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Echo Park Film Center<\/a><\/span> complex (1200 N. Alvarado, L.A. 90026), where at 7 p.m. they will play a set, then screen the L.A. River Music Armada documentary (by young filmmaker Danny Louangaxy), which includes footage of their Long Beach show at the Infinite. Promises the invite, “Watch as they hide canoes, navigate beautifully polluted waters and eventually meet up with the infamous L.A.P.D.”<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">\n<p class=\"p1\">Says singer\/songwriter David Fort, “One of the essential goals of the River Armadas is to get people closer to the water so they themselves can create their own connection to it. This trip has inspired the concept of a river cleanup, which we intend to employ now for all future Armadas.”<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">\n<p class=\"p1\">Speaking of which, Saturday, April 9, the band hosts their L.A. River Cleanup. “Rain or shine \u2026 Meet on the NW side of the Balboa bridge north off of 101 Freeway at 10 a.m.,” says the <a><\/a><a>Facebook event page<\/a>. “We are going to work our way towards the dam and see how far we get.”<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">\n<p class=\"p1\">“The L.A. River Cleanup is a safe way of looking at a great stretch of water way at the same time seeing what our litter does to it,” says Fort, “and most importantly connecting to it and being able to help by cleaning a small portion of it.” <\/p>\n<p><meta charset=\"utf-8\">Sunday, April 10, the band will play an afternoon set at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tribalcafe.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><\/a><a><\/a>Tribal Caf\u00e9 (1651 W.
