For example, on Saturday there are several local art events worth checking out.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.2ndcitycouncil.org\/current.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The 2nd City Council Art Gallery + Performance Space<\/a> is hosting a reception for their new exhibition.&nbsp; Cheryl and Dwight Bennett are consistently masterful at organizing and lovingly displaying art works selected by a juror for each show.&nbsp; While all their shows feature artists from California, this one is unique in that it has no theme.&nbsp; The reception is from 7 &#8211; 9 PM, and the gallery is located at 435 Alamitos.<\/p>\n<p>The monthly 2nd Saturday Art Walk is also taking place tomorrow evening.&nbsp; A group of local artists close down Linden Avenue between 1st and Broadway to showcase music, art, and crafts all in a festive atmosphere.&nbsp; Gallery 11\/7 is featuring a unique collaborative show featuring Robin Bott.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re absolutely desperate to get out of town, go to the Los Angeles Municipal Gallery, located in Barnsdall Park, to enjoy the LA Siggraph DigitalEyes 2009-2009 exhibition, curated by CSULB art professor Jen Grey.&nbsp;
