The opening artists’ reception for “Strength & Vulnerability” is taking place this Saturday, July 12th, from 7 – 9 PM at the 2nd City Council Art + Performance Space. More than 40 artists will have works featured in the jurored exhibition.<\/p>\n
The Lap Steel Duo will make the gallery their second stop on their month-long whirl-wind tour of Long Beach. The duo performs primarily original, instrumental music on lap steel or “Hawaiian” guitars, although their music is not necessarily influenced by the Islands. <\/p>\n
Also featured is a Special Archeo Exhibit, Zotecaqs, which will feature “cultural protectors, and ceremonial and ritual specimens” by Jim Hornung. <\/p>\n
The gallery is located at 435 Alamitos Avenue, just South of 5th Street. Regular gallery hours are from 12-5 PM Wednesday – Sunday.
