Updated information will be shared via the website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.welovelb.org\/citywide-ice-cream-social.html\">here<\/a>\u00a0and the Facebook page <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/welovelongbeach\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Help out Harvest Partners LB of City HeART harvest over 1,000 pounds of grapefruit for donation to local homeless shelters on Saturday in Downtown Long Beach. The event, <strong>All Hands on Deck<\/strong>, will run from 8:15 to 11:15 a.m. and will include harvesting and culling grapefruit, trimming greenery from picked fruit, boxing fruit and more. A charitable Vietnamese joint called Pholanthropy, fried chicken eatery Fritzi Coop, Lakewood-based bagelry Cassidy\u2019s Corner, Redondo Beach-born The Standing Room and Solid Coffee Roasters will also be setting up shop later this year.<\/p>\n<p>This Sunday, the Museum of Latin American Art\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/molaa.org\/events\/2018\/6\/24\/craft-beer-fest\"><strong>Craft Beer Fest<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0will take place from 2\u00a0 to 7 p.m., offering guests samples of dozens of craft beers from local breweries and home-brewers. Photos by Brian Addison.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>What was Moonshiners, located at 130 Pine Ave. in downtown Long Beach\u00a0and described as a &#8220;wannabe craft cocktail joint&#8221; by LongBeachize,\u00a0is on its way to getting a full makeover by Pier 76 owner and chef Chris Krajacic,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.longbeachize.com\/owner-of-pier-76-seeks-new-vibe-for-downtown-long-beach-restaurant-skee-ball-future-music-venue-included\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=http:\/\/www.longbeachize.com\/owner-of-pier-76-seeks-new-vibe-for-downtown-long-beach-restaurant-skee-ball-future-music-venue-included&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1529851298235000&amp;usg=AFQjCNFNoJvJBefwy_oJd5xeyQMZGzpymQ\">LongBeachize<\/a>\u00a0<wbr \/>reported Thursday. The new endeavor, called <strong>The Harbor<\/strong>, will offer an adult arcade (think Skee-ball, shuffleboard, maybe pinball) and a contemporary menu featuring items like Island Creek oysters, lobster fondue and lacquered chicken bites.<\/p>\n<p>As one door closes, another door opens, as is the case with Bixby Knolls-raised restaurant <strong>Delius<\/strong>, which is closing its Signal Hill location after 11 years, <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2018\/6\/14\/17465070\/delius-restaurant-closing-long-beach\">Eater LA<\/a> announced last week. Now Baker has added dozens of new menu items, The Federal announced, including the Grilled Tomahawk Pork Chop (with grilled peaches, brown sugar brandy glaze, grilled broccolini and mashed potato puree) and Mexican Street Corn (with grilled sweet corn, a variety of cheeses, chili dust, fresh lime juice and chipotle aioli). Check out the full \u201c<strong>California Fusion<\/strong>\u201d menu <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thefederallb.com\/menu\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bigmista\u2019s Barbecue &amp; Sammich Shop<\/strong> is closing on July 1, so if you\u2019ve been hankering for some of Long Beach\u2019s most underrated \u201cflat-out amazing food,\u201d now would be the time to stop by. Owners Neil and Phyllis Strawder&#8217;s reason for closing the flagship eatery (after announcing the closure of their breakfast joint) involved issues getting out of their lease and realizing it was simply time to move on, according to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.longbeachize.com\/long-beachs-famed-bigmistas-barbecue-set-to-close-up-shop\">LongBeachize<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/lbpost.com\/sports\/five-places-in-long-beach-to-catch-the-2018-fifa-world-cup\/<\/p>\n<p>During the <strong>2018 FIFA World Cup<\/strong> through July 15, <a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/sports\/five-places-in-long-beach-to-catch-the-2018-fifa-world-cup\/\">five local bars and restaurants<\/a> will be showing the matches.
