To continue our series of community-sourced photo excursions\u2014a project we launched last month to encourage you, our readers, to slow down and observe your surroundings by flexing your photography skills, whether it’s during a walk to work<\/a>, your turn to take the dog out, or something like this enviable foray into plein air painting<\/a>\u2014here we have our next submission from a local photographer, Jillian Vondy.<\/p>\n

You can catch Vondy with her lens pointed upward, often at a cool sign or to capture the intricate stonework of an older building. From the photographed-by-every-tourist-who-ever-visited-Long Beach historic Villa Riviera structure\u2014which she manages to capture in a unique way\u2014to a 7-Eleven sign at dusk, the Alamitos Beach resident takes portraits at work, so in her free time aims her camera at just about anything else, as in the architectural details you’ll find in the photos below.<\/p>\n
