Posting subject to approval.<\/p>\n<h2>Virtually Pets<\/h2>\n<p>All Memorial Day weekend from Friday through Monday, people will be watching parades in honor of veterans. They\u2019ll visit gravesites of relatives who defended the country, go see men and women in VA hospitals and recovery centers, and volunteer in other ways to show the people who\u2019d give their lives to keep us as safe as possible that they\u2019re appreciated.<\/p>\n<p>And <a href=\"http:\/\/www.longbeach.gov\/acs\">Long Beach Animal Care Services<\/a> (ACS) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spcala.com\">spcaLA<\/a>\u00a0are teaming up with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.animalsforarmedforces.org\/memorial-day-weekend-2018\">Animals for Armed Forces Foundation<\/a>\u00a0to provide something special and, in many cases, essential: a best friend who\u2019ll give each service member the loyalty, enjoyment and love they deserve. In the sense of how real friendship should always come, it will be absolutely free. Choose your own friend with no adoption fee.<\/p>\n<p>Cats, dogs and rabbits are all available for another kind of rescue mission\u2014the who\u2019s-rescuing-whom type. He had a home once but was surrendered to the shelter. He is a remarkably fun pet who has a ton of energy and\u00a0a loving disposition. He loves to run and play and will stand at attention when it\u2019s time. He\u2019s treat and toy motivated, and has all the great qualities of a family pet who loves people.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-66266 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Petey-970x727.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>Petey<\/b> (ID#A565961) is a neutered-male pit bull terrier with floppy ears and a mellow disposition. He\u2019s one cool dude who\u2019ll sit and wait for your approach\u2014and then it\u2019s playtime! BARK now has\u00a0170 teams listening to kids in more than 100 schools and libraries in California\u2014Long Beach libraries visited monthly are Bach, El Dorado, Bayshore, Brewitt and Los Altos; outlying-area libraries include Hawaiian Gardens, Iacoboni and Los Alamitos.
