{"id":77711,"date":"2023-09-19T06:00:44","date_gmt":"2023-09-19T13:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/hi-lo\/?p=77711"},"modified":"2023-09-18T15:42:09","modified_gmt":"2023-09-18T22:42:09","slug":"lb-sake-day-craft-beer-sake-secret-tickets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/esd\/hi-lo\/food\/lb-sake-day-craft-beer-sake-secret-tickets","title":{"rendered":"First LB Sake Day will offer tastings of craft sakes brewed both locally and in Japan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/hi-lo\/small-business\/sake-secret-long-beach-tasting-room-downtown\/\">Sake Secret<\/a>\u00a0and Craft Beer LB have teamed up for Long Beach&#8217;s first sake festival, which will feature over twenty craft breweries and notable sakes brewed in both Japan and California.<\/p>\n<p>LB Sake Day will be hosted at Rancho Los Cerritos on Sept. 30 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., where vendors will recreate the feel of a traditional Japanese matsuri (festival).<\/p>\n<p>A general admission ticket costs $50, plus a $5.20 Eventbrite fee, and will include tastings of all sake on offer and a commemorative ochoko (a traditional ceramic sake cup).<\/p>\n<p>A VIP ticket costs $75 with a $6.88 fee and will allow ticketholders to enter the festival an hour early, at noon, to taste special, limited-supply sake reserved for that hour.<\/p>\n<p>Those who are willing to be the designated sober driver can get a $25 discounted ticket with a $3.52 fee.<\/p>\n<p>Only those 21 and over may attend, and proceeds will benefit Rancho Los Cerritos, a historic site dedicated to the preservation and education of the region&#8217;s cultural heritage.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets and a list of breweries and sakes can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/lb-sake-day-tickets-668612155957?aff=oddtdtcreator\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Food vendors will also be part of the festival including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedrinkingbuddyshop.com\/\">Drinking Buddy Gourmet Japanese Snacks<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wagyustreet.com\/\">Wagyu Street<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kagurausa.com\/\">Kagura Katsu Sando<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chinchikurin-usa.com\/\">Chinchikurin Hiroshima-Style Okonomiyaki<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/torisho-longbeach.business.site\/?utm_source=gmb&amp;utm_medium=referral\">Torisho<\/a> Karaage (Japanese fried chicken)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Okinawan-brewed Orion Beer will also be pouring samples.<\/p>\n<p>Pre-sale of the sakes up for tasting at the festival can be ordered for pick-up at Sake Secret in Downtown.<\/p>\n<p><em>Sake Secret owner and sommelier Greg Beck recently opened the doors to his shop at 460 Pine Avenue in Downtown. It&#8217;s the only specialty sake store in L.A. County.
