{"id":79791,"date":"2023-11-19T09:00:02","date_gmt":"2023-11-19T17:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/hi-lo\/?p=79791"},"modified":"2023-11-18T16:14:06","modified_gmt":"2023-11-19T00:14:06","slug":"preparations-begin-for-annual-christmas-tree-lighting-later-this-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/esd\/hi-lo\/preparations-begin-for-annual-christmas-tree-lighting-later-this-month","title":{"rendered":"Preparations begin for annual Christmas tree lighting later this month"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Work was underway this weekend on building a 67-foot tall artificial tree in the plaza of the Long Beach Terrace Theater Downtown.<\/p>\n<p>The 9th annual Downtown Christmas tree lighting ceremony and festival will return to the Terrace Plaza at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 28.<\/p>\n<p>The tree will eventually glow with 500,000 lights that illuminate Downtown every night during the holiday season.<\/p>\n<p>The lighting ceremony will include live music, local food trucks, photos with Santa, and even a Christmas train ride, plus lots of places to take a holiday selfie.<\/p>\n<p>This will also be the first time Mayor Rex Richardson flips the switch in his new role.
