Enterprise content management leader\u00a0Laserfiche<\/a> is partnering with the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association to commission and showcase a series of murals at Laserfiche headquarters, the company announced today.<\/p>\n

\u201cArt has always been a vital part of Long Beach\u2019s culture and, in particular, has helped to shine a spotlight on Bixby Knolls as a creative hub where residents and businesses thrive,\u201d Blair Cohn, executive director at the BKBIA, said in a statement. \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to partner with Laserfiche on this initiative to support local artists and activate this part of Long Beach Boulevard.\u201d<\/p>\n

Laserfiche develops software for information management and other automated business processes and has had its global headquarters located in Long Beach since 2001. Artists who apply will be asked to create work that coincides with the theme, \u201cHumanity in the Age of Technology\u201d and to highlight \u201cthe company\u2019s culture of innovation and mission to empower people to change the world through technology.\u201d<\/p>\n

Artists can submit an application up until midnight June 18 through the link here<\/a>. Those selected will be invited to create site-specific murals inside Laserfiche headquarters at 3545 Long Beach Boulevard, as well as on the outdoor parking structure, according to the release.<\/p>\n

\u201cLaserfiche develops innovative technology and solutions that thrive on creative thinking and a diversity of perspectives,\u201d Vice President of Marketing at Laserfiche Tim Nichols said in a statement. \u201cArt is a natural extension of that creativity. We look forward to hosting local artists\u2019 work that will reflect our company culture and inspire employees and the community.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Laserfiche Arts Initiative is one of multiple creative projects that the BKBIA has planned in 2018. This open call for artists will result in showcasing six original murals painted by local artists in an effort to beautify the Laserfiche building and draw attention to the work of Long Beach creatives.<\/p>\n
