While feeling frustrated and trapped circling in your car, here are some tips to maintaining a more pleasant state of mind:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Take Deep Breaths<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cBreath is not just the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide. For different levels of<br \/>\nthought and emotion that you go through, your breath takes on different types of<br \/>\npatterns. When you are angry, peaceful, happy or sad, your breathe goes through subtle<br \/>\nchanges. Whichever way you breathe, that is the way you think. Whichever way you<br \/>\nthink, that is the way you breathe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ever hear of the expression: Take a deep breath and count to ten when you are angry or<br \/>\nstressed? There is so much practical wisdom in that statement. Many of us are feeling<br \/>\noverworked, disengaged, and burned out.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=q5m6tMjcF8k&amp;amp=&amp;t=2s\">breath can be used as a tool<\/a>\u00a0to do many things with the body and the mind. Pranayama is the science where, by consciously breathing in a particular way, the very way you think, feel, understand and experience life can be changed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Change Your Perception of Stress<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I first went to the United States a few years ago, wherever I went, everybody<br \/>\nwas talking about \u2018stress management\u2019. I really didn\u2019t get this because in my<br \/>\nunderstanding, we manage things which are precious to us \u2013 our business, our family,<br \/>\nour money, our wealth, our children. Why would anyone manage stress? It took me a<br \/>\nwhile to understand that people have concluded that stress is a part of their lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stress should not be an accepted part of life, he said, as the feeling comes from an inability to manage your body, mind, emotions and energies. What is stressful for one person, is not stressful to another, so why not choose \u201cblissfulness?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cManage yourself, not your stress. Stress is just an inability to manage the inner situation, not the outer situation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Change the Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cEssentially, the quality of our lives change and transform not because we change the<br \/>\ncontent of our lives, but only because we change the context of our lives. How simple<br \/>\nor complex an activity is doesn\u2019t change the quality of your life. With what context you<br \/>\ndo it changes the quality of your life.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a story for you, on a certain day, three men were working in one place. Another<br \/>\nman came by and asked the first man, \u2018What are you doing here?\u2019 The man looked up<br \/>\nand said, \u2018Are you blind? Can\u2019t you see I\u2019m cutting stone?\u2019 This person moved on to the<br \/>\nnext man and asked, \u2018What are you doing here?\u2019 That man looked up and said,<br \/>\n\u2018Something to fill my belly. So I come here and do whatever they ask me to do.
