Long Beach will now have its own monthly Vegan Playground pop-ups starting with an event at Devi’s Donuts in East Long Beach on Sunday, March 17.<\/p>\n

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and feature vegan street food vendors as well as desserts from the donut shop. Admission to the pop-up is free, but tickets can be reserved<\/a> online.<\/p>\n

Vegan Playground hosts family and dog-friendly events in the city of LA on Wednesdays, but they’ve begun expanding the geographical footprint of their events. Long Beach is first up and more locations will be announced later this year.<\/p>\n

Long Beach’s event will feature six vegan vendors from around Southern California and outdoor seating will be available as well as live music. In addition to Devi’s Donuts, Lucky Catsu<\/a>, the Original Herbivore<\/a> food truck, Vegan Pupusas<\/a> pop-up, Shane’s Tamales<\/a>, and Vegan or Nah<\/a> will also be serving up vegan bites.<\/p>\n

Lucky Catsu is a vegan Hawaiian barbecue pop-up which offers classic Hawaiian dishes like “pork” with curry sauce, Hawaiian mac salad and more.<\/p>\n

The Original Herbivore serves up fried “chicken” sandwiches, fried “chicken” and waffles and sweet treats like vegan shakes. Vegan Pupusas gives a vegan twist to a pupusa, which traditionally is a griddle, thick dough stuffed with meat or cheese similar to an arepa.<\/p>\n

Similarly, tamales are often filled with meat but Shane’s Tamales offer a vegan option for those looking for one. And Vegan or Nah offers vegan “chicken” and waffles, vegan fried fish, jerk oyster mushroom bowls and more.<\/p>\n

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own reusable containers and utensils when possible.<\/p>\n
