The first weekend of 2025 brings \u201cMagic in the Stars\u201d to Long Beach Arena. The Aquarium of the Pacific hosts a Beach Cleanup. Gaslamp lights up with the 2025 Cali-Punk Fest. Join Ra Yoga for a one-of-a-kind experience, and if you like solving puzzles, the Michelle Obama Library is the place to be.<\/i><\/p>\n

Magic in the Stars (Thursday, Jan. 2 to Sunday, Jan. 5)<\/b><\/p>\n

Disney on Ice presents \u201cMagic in the Stars\u201d at the Long Beach Arena Thursday through Sunday.<\/p>\n

Mickey, Minnie, Cinderella, Aladdin, Toy Story and Cars will all be part of the display in this timeless journey through Disney stories, but today\u2019s favorites like Encanto, Frozen 2, Raya, Asha, Tiana, Rapunzel and Moana will also be part of the show.<\/p>\n

Beach Cleanup (Saturday, Jan. 4)<\/b><\/p>\n

Aquarium of the Pacific hosts Beach Cleanup Day at Alamitos Beach from 9 to 11 a.m.<\/p>\n

Organizers are asking volunteers to wear covered shoes, bring reusable water bottles and be prepared with sunscreen and sunglasses. Parking will be free, and orgainzers will provide buckets, sifters, pickers and trash bags \u2014 but you can also bring your own. Organizers say all ages are welcome but anyone under 16 needs to come with an adult.<\/p>\n

Cali-Punk Fest 2025 <\/b>(Saturday, Jan. 4)<\/b><\/p>\n

The Gaslamp presents the 2025 Cali-Punk Fest at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n

Four tribute bands will take the stage during this event: Green ToDay \u2014 Tribute to Green Day; Pretty Fly \u2013 Tribute to Offspring; Blink 180 True \u2013 Tribute to Blink 182 and Weezerton \u2013 Tribute to Weezer. Persons must be 21 and over to be admitted. Doors open at 6 p.m.<\/p>\n

Yoga Experience <\/b>(Saturday, Jan. 4)<\/b><\/p>\n

Join Darren Obong and Karen Shideler for an intentionally curated slow yoga flow and sound experience at Ra Yoga from 4 to 6 p.m.<\/p>\n

This 2-hour workshop promises to help attendees connect with their body and breath through slow, intentional yoga that leads into a sound bath of crystal alchemy singing bowls and other instruments.<\/p>\n

Veni Vidi Solvi (Tuesday, Jan. 7)<\/b><\/p>\n

Long Beach Public Library presents Veni Vidi Solvi, \u201cI Came, I Saw, I Solved,\u201d in the Conference Room of the Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

Join the library on the first Tuesday of the month for an hour of solving puzzles of all kinds. Various options will be provided for all to enjoy, and participants can also bring their favorite unsolved enigmas to share. All adults are welcome.<\/p>\n

Join us for a discussion amongst wolf biologists, investigative journalists and a noted LA Times reporter to discuss a possible future in which wolves and ranchers can thrive in California and elsewhere.<\/p>\n

Following the talk, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy cocktails and conversations, music, and crafts in our Art Gallery. Guests will also have the opportunity to visit a single gallery with live animals: FROGS \u201cOur Neighbors\u201d and experience our interactive exhibits Paint-a-Frog and Paint-a-Fish.
