In addition to the 37th Annual MLK Jr. Day parade and festivities taking place at MLK Park, the Long Beach Convention Center will host the State of the Port of Long Beach. Beloved cartoon character Bluey comes to Partake Collective. There’s a session of political humor and satire at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center, and 2ND & PCH presents a weekend of workouts for a fit cause.<\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n

State of the Port of Long Beach (Thursday, Jan. 16)<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Port of Long Beach presents the State of the Port of Long Beach at the Long Beach Convention Center from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Want to hear about what\u2019s going on with the port? The State of the Port gives an overview each year. They promise the 2025 edition will be an \u201cinformative presentation on the successes and milestones of 2024 and an exciting look ahead to 2025 as the Port celebrates 20 Years of Leading Green.\u201d Registration for the event is closed at this time, but it will be livestreamed at polb.com\/stateoftheport<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bluey New Year\u2019s Night Market (Friday, Jan. 17)<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Live presents Bluey New Year\u2019s Night Market at Partake Collective from 5 to 9 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do your kids love Bluey? They can come meet him in person during a character meet-and-greet from 6 to 7 p.m. And there\u2019s plenty to do for parents as well with retail vendors, local food trucks, live music and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The comedy troupe  Capitol Steps delivers this political humor show with \u201cplenty of laughs for both sides of the aisle with fresh political satire and song parodies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Long Beach Strong Beach (Saturday, Jan. 18 and Sunday, Jan. 19)<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2ND & PCH presents \u201cLong Beach Strong Beach,\u201d a two-day fitness extravaganza, taking place Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event features back-to-back fitness workouts led by expert instructors from 2ND & PCH retailers and local community partners. Proceeds will benefit Century Club Long Beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MLK Day Parade\/Celebration (Saturday, Jan. 18)<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The city’s 37th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Parade and Celebration runs from from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It starts with a parade that kicks off at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue and Anaheim Street. You can see the parade route and road closures here<\/a>. Then, from noon to 5 p.m. at MLK Park, there will be live entertainment, a kid\u2019s zone, food and merchandise vendors. For a full entertainment lineup, click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
