Black History and hearts are in the air as the calendar flips. To start the celebration of Valentine\u2019s Day in Long Beach, a special Valentine\u2019s Day panel will take place at Page Against the Machine Bookstore. A border town rock group brings a lively concert to the Carpenter Center, and pianist Jason Moran transforms into a legend. Bluegrass with a touch of classical flavor takes over the Terrace Theater, and the annual Bob Memorial Mutt Run goes to the dogs at Claremont Launch Ramp.<\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Come join Jarabe Mexicano for a night of rock and roll, Mexican Folk and Tex-Mex at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center, beginning at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This show features harmonized vocals in both Spanish and English as part of a family fiesta that will include music and personal stories about what it\u2019s like to grow up on the U.S.-Mexico border. Whether serenading the audience to romanticize or belting out upbeat dance songs to whip the crowd into a partying mood, this performance will have people talking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
