To celebrate, he released his eighth album, fittingly titled \u201c&#8217;Ain&#8217;t Done with the Blues,\u201d featuring 18 new tracks as a gift to his long-time and newer fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The multi-Grammy winner and Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame member is also on a farewell tour \u2014 the \u201cBuddy Guy Damn Right Encore!\u201d \u2014 stopping for one night at the Cerritos Performing Arts Center this Sunday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNow, I can\u2019t kick my leg up high as I used to or jump off the stage like I did in my 20s and 30s,\u201d Guy said about performing. \u201cBut I\u2019m going to give you everything I got as long as I got it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n    <a href=\"#XHECJQES\">Link<\/a>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Though Guy had already made a \u201cfarewell\u201d tour last year, called the \u201cDamn Right Farewell Tour\u201d after earning the Americana Music Association\u2019s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023, his continuing impulse to share the blues with as many people as possible led to this \u201cencore\u201d tour and the new album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Guy, the album represents a pledge he made to fellow bluesmen, including Muddy Waters, Howlin\u2019 Wolf, Sonny Boy Williamson and B.B. like the movie, or performing out on the road, or making a new record \u2014 it\u2019s important because some young people might see it or hear it and say, \u2018Oh, I got to know more about that.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guy\u2019s publicist describes the guitarist and singer as an \u201carchitect of the blues, a craftsman of the building blocks that laid the foundation for today&#8217;s modern R&amp;B,\u201d and influential to generations of musicians, including Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards and Stevie Ray Vaughan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh contributed to Guy\u2019s single \u201cHow Blues Is That?\u201d released in advance of his new album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe project highlights Buddy\u2019s deep Louisiana roots,\u201d Guy\u2019s publicist said, \u201cwith his emotionally charged arrangements and bone-chilling, hard-earned lyrics tied up in life lessons.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The son of Louisiana sharecroppers, Guy began playing guitar and singing in Louisiana in the mid-1950s while working as a custodian before moving to Chicago in 1957 and helping shape its burgeoning blues scene with his innovative guitar style and dynamic stage presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a storied career studded by numerous accolades, Buddy Guy is now considered one of the blues\u2019 most prominent elder statesmen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guy said he is looking forward to performing at the Cerritos Center soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve played a lotta places in my time, but I\u2019m real glad to be bringin\u2019 the blues to Cerritos,\u201d he said. \u201cNothin\u2019 like a good crowd and a loud guitar \u2014 let\u2019s make it a night to remember!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><i>Buddy Guy will perform
