A low adoption fee of $20 will allow you to take home a cat or a dog 7 years old and up. Even better, if you bring the paperwork from the adoption within 30 days to Thai Silk restaurant on Broadway, you\u2019ll get a sizeable $25 off a meal!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-63839 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Thai-Silk-970x1254.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"776\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The two previous adoption columns featuring senior pets\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/life\/pets\/adopt-a-knackered-little-ol-beastie-for-st-patricks-day\/\">\u201cAdopt a Knackered Little Ol\u2019 Beastie for St. Patrick\u2019s Day\u201d<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/life\/pets\/whod-dump-an-elderly-pet\/\">\u201cWho\u2019d Dump an Elderly Pet?\u201d<\/a> laid out the reasons\u2014all very good\u2014for adopting a senior and, less delicately, some education and a lot of tirade concerning what puts these poor creatures in the shelters in the first place. Take a look at some of the videos and photos on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/LongBeachAnimalCare\/?ref=br_rs\">Long Beach Animal Care Services\u2019 Facebook page<\/a>, and it\u2019ll be obvious that these oldish guys may be seniors but they\u2019re not ready for the rocking chair anytime soon.<\/p>\n<p>I have nothing more to say except please come and meet these pets. Brownie, like a lot of our seniors, was an owner surrender. Listen up\u2014shelters aren\u2019t retirement homes, and Brownie can use a real home. She\u2019s sweet as a cupcake and enjoys hanging out in the grass with human beings. Chihuahuas have been known to live to late teen and beyond, so she\u2019s got plenty of good years left.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Elektra-970x729.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-63903\" src=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Elektra-970x729.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Unlike her <em>Daredevil <\/em>and Marvel comics namesake, <strong>Elektra<\/strong> (ID#A603982) is no daredevil, and she\u2019s also not a young martial-arts queen who\u2019ll use her claws as daggers (she is somewhat telepathic, however; after all, she\u2019s a cat). On the contrary, Elektra is a 13-year-old beautiful, glossy, black female cat. And she\u2019s pretty sad\u2014her owner surrendered her along with two other cats (sigh). She has some good years left, and she really needs a chance at a forever home.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Precious-970x728.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-63904\" src=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Precious-970x728.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t you just want to pinch those jowly cheeks? <strong>Precious<\/strong> (ID#A604887) isn\u2019t a senior\u2014she\u2019s a 3-year-old female and yet another owner surrender. Female orange cats are relatively rare\u2014only about 25 percent (some genetic thing\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/life\/pets\/the-vet-is-in-the-spectacular-red-tabby\/\">here\u2019s a <em>Post <\/em>article by Dr. Meredith Kennedy that\u2019ll explain it all<\/a>). But this is one awesome\u2014cat\u2014social, loving, friendly and fluffy.
