Since its inception in 1988, Walk MS has raised more than $1 billion, according to the release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWalk MS is all about community \u2013 people coming together to raise money and show support for loved ones, colleagues and friends,\u201d Cyndi Zagieboylo, President and CEO of the National MS Society said in a statement. \u201cFunds raised have a direct impact in this community, for example \u2013 our MS Navigator program. MS Navigators are highly-skilled, compassionate professionals available to connect each person affected by MS to the resources and information they need to live their best lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The most common neurological disease leading to disability in young adults, multiple sclerosis attacks the brain and spinal cord, according to Walk MS. The National MS Society gives people with MS, their family and loved ones, healthcare providers, donors, fundraisers, advocates, community leaders and those who seek a world free of MS, a place to gather.<\/p>\n<p>Sanofi Genzyme is the premier national sponsor of Walk MS. Biogen, Genentech and Novartis are national sponsors of Walk MS.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, April 14 registration opens at 8:00AM, followed by opening ceremonies at 9:30AM and the walk at 10:00AM.
