Office Honors 2018 Women of Distinction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In honor of Women\u2019s History Month, 19 women from Long Beach, San Pedro, Signal Hill and Catalina Island were recently honored as Women of Distinction by Assemblyman Patrick O\u2019Donnell for their extraordinary achievements. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In an evening ceremony held March 8, O\u2019Donnell\u2019s office honored women who were nominated by their colleagues\u2014and selected by O\u2019Donnell himself\u2014in one of five categories: creative industries, business, community service, education and health services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI am humbled by the opportunity to honor and celebrate a group of women who represent the very best of our community,\u201d O\u2019Donnell said in a statement. \u201cNow more than ever, it is critical that we take a moment to recognize the inspirational role these women play in the lives of others and express our appreciation for their invaluable contributions.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Michele Grubbs earned the 2018 Woman of the Year while the following women were recognized as Women of Distinction: Marli Amin, Daysha Austin, Abella Carroll,Winifred Carter, Norma Chinchilla, Patricia Costales, Cassandra Davis, Mieko Failey, Tacy Hunter, Roth In, Robin Jones, Elise McCaleb, Cinde MacGugan-Cassidy, Lena Albitre Ragusa, Yolanda Regalado, Pamela Seager, Judith Seal and Virginia Zart.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Photo courtesy of
