International Cultural Festival at LBCC (Wednesday, Nov. 19)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Long Beach City College is inviting you to “travel the world without leaving campus!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The International Student Club and Sister Cities of Long Beach are putting on the free event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the quad of the Liberal Arts Campus, 4901 East Carson St.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They promise you’ll get the chance to experience global dancing, live music and drumming, international food cooked up by students in the culinary arts department, crafts, arts and cultural activities. Check out the event flier<\/a> for more info.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music to My Eyes art show (Thursday, Nov. 20)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Local nonprofit Creative Class Collective<\/a> is putting on one of the city’s most creative student art shows \u2014 and it’s free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The concept is fun and simple: “Local high school art students were assigned a song, preferably one they were not too familiar with, and were tasked with painting what the song inspired in them.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They were handed out randomly, so it could be a kid listening to a classic rock, jazz or classical song for the first time before figuring out what the composition means to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We got a peek at their work last year, and it was incredible. There’s no doubt you’ll be inspired by the talent of our local youth if you make the time to check it out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibit is at the Edison Theater, 213 East Broadway, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. RSVP here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
