And there seems to be something for everyone at Long Beach venues \u2014 a murder-mystery and Shakespearean tragedy that are entering their final weekends, and new shows including a spiritual drama, a \u201cwitty\u201d musical comedy, an inspirational musical \u201cmasterpiece,\u201d and a bawdy, gender-bending political play.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Long Beach Shakespeare Company<\/strong>\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/esd\/eat-see-do-2\/do\/theater-news-murder-is-on-the-menu-at-a-theater-near-you-this-month-along-with-some-imaginative-experimentation\/\">Julius Caesar<\/a>,\u201d William Shakespeare\u2019s political tragedy, is entering its final weekend at the Helen Borgers Theatre, 4250 Atlantic Ave., with shows Thursday, Feb. 5 and Saturday, Feb. 7.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A soothsayer warns Caesar, \u201cbeware the Ides of March,\u201d but will February spare him? Photo courtesy of the theater.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Then later this month, for three weekends beginning Feb. 21, the Playhouse will stage August Wilson\u2019s \u201cGem of the Ocean,\u201d directed by Rovin Jay.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The play is set in 1904, the first of Wilson\u2019s \u201cPittsburgh Cycle\u201d of ten plays exploring 20th-century Black experience in terms of slavery\u2019s legacy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An Alabama man named Citizen Barlow arrives in Pittsburgh seeking the help of Aunt Ester, a spiritual advisor in the city\u2019s Hill District, a predominantly Black community. Anaheim St., call the box office at 562-494-1014 or visit <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/lbplayhouse.org\/\"><em>LBPlayhouse.org<\/em><\/a><em>.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>International City Theatre<\/strong>\u2019s first show this year begins Feb. 18 \u2014 the musical comedy \u201cI Love You, You\u2019re Perfect, Now Change\u201d by Joe DiPietro.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The theater calls the musical a \u201ccrowd-pleasing comedy that explores the truths and myths of modern relationships.\u201d Relationships are sent up through a series of vignettes beginning with awkward dating, hopeful marriage and all that comes after, including in-laws and babies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHilarious and heartfelt, this revue is a tribute to anyone who&#8217;s ever loved, lost or simply wondered, \u2018What are you doing Saturday night?\u2019\u201d says the theater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sounds like a perfect follow-up to Valentine\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>For tickets to \u201cI Love You, You\u2019re Perfect, Now Change\u201d at International City Theater, 330 E.
