Photo by Brandon Richardson.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2011, Gordon opened Beachwood Barbecue and Brewing in Downtown Long Beach on the Promenade to continue to expand on what he started in Seal Beach with his own brewery attached.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since then, the brand has grown considerably, despite the <a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/esd\/hi-lo\/food\/beachwood-brewing-sells-downtown-long-beach-location-to-a-new-brewery\/\">sale of the two original locations<\/a>. They now have five customer-facing locations \u2014 three of which are in Long Beach \u2014 with 20-30 beers on tap, and a sixth spot focused solely on brewing beer. Through it all, Gordon says the heart of Beachwood hasn\u2019t changed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur core values have always stayed the same. Photo by Brandon Richardson.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>That creativity that has guided the brand for so long is Gordon\u2019s favorite part of owning the business.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEverything else is just work, but when you get to create stuff, that&#8217;s the best,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a business owner, Gordon is very customer-focused. Photo by Brandon Richardson.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>To celebrate how far they\u2019ve come, Beachwood just unveiled a new brew and a limited-edition four-pack at their Bixby Knolls and Huntington Beach locations, available until they sell out. The new beer, Solar Echo, is described as a \u201chop-forward West Coast IPA with dank aromatics and notes of passion fruit, ripe mango, and tropical berry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The limited-edition \u201cFriends Pack\u201d includes four flavors, each made in collaboration with a partner brewery ranging from Tenma Beer Project in Oakland, California to Cervecer\u00eda H\u00e9rcules in Quer\u00e9taro, Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Beachwood Brewing has three locations in Long Beach: one in Bixby Knolls, one Downtown, and one in the 2nd &amp; PCH shopping center.
