{"id":906,"date":"2018-02-28T17:30:58","date_gmt":"2018-03-01T01:30:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/?p=62790"},"modified":"2018-02-28T17:30:58","modified_gmt":"2018-03-01T01:30:58","slug":"creative-collaboration-gives-viewers-an-inside-look-at-long-beachs-historic-architecture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/esd\/hi-lo\/creative-collaboration-gives-viewers-an-inside-look-at-long-beachs-historic-architecture","title":{"rendered":"Creative Collaboration Gives Viewers an Inside Look at Long Beach\u2019s Historic Architecture"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"width: 1280px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('video');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-906-1\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Sovereign-Teaser.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Sovereign-Teaser.mp4\">https:\/\/lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Sovereign-Teaser.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p><em>Video by Ulises Roman of The Sovereign.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Next week, architecture junkies and curious locals will be pleased to get an inside look at some of Long Beach\u2019s most famous historical buildings, thanks to a partnership between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/inspiredlbc\/\">@inspiredlbc<\/a> founder Josh Garcia and videographer Ulises Roman.<\/p>\n<p>In a five-part web series launching Monday, March 5 starting with The Sovereign at 360 West Ocean Boulevard, the project will entail weeklong explorations showing what very few people, other than the buildings\u2019 inhabitants, have been able to see, through video and photography.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing in real estate I\u2019d show clients inside these historic buildings and immediately fell in love with the history, the finishes, furniture and the solariums!\u201d Garcia said. \u201cI moved into the Sovereign last summer and that\u2019s also another reason that sparked the project.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After The Sovereign, those following along on Instagram and Vimeo will get to check out the Lafayette starting March 12, the Villa Riviera beginning March 19, the Cooper Arms on the 27th, with more to follow.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe craftsmanship required to build some of these buildings speaks for itself,\u201d Roman said. \u201cIn a world of mass production where things are made to break, it\u2019s nice to see that there is still an appreciation for quality-made things. We can definitely take this project further, richer, deeper.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If they can find more funding, the two hope to push the project further by creating a mini documentary or series on Long Beach history.<\/p>\n<p>Being able to interview past homeowners, for example, would give viewers more context and perhaps satisfy the curiosities of interested history buffs.
