Earth Day Weekend Film Festival
April 21 - April 22
The iconic Art Theatre on Long Beach’s Retro Row will fully embrace the Earth Day celebration this year by presenting an Earth Day Weekend Film Festival Saturday and Sunday, April 21 and 22.
The films scheduled for screening are:
Saturday, April 21 @ 11:00AM
International Ocean Film Tour (3 hours with 15 minute intermission), followed by a Q & A session with Sandy Trautwein, Ph.D., interim Vice President of Husbandry and Curator of Fish and Invertebrates at Aquarium of the Pacific and Henry C. Lystad, producer of the film.
Sunday, April 22 @ 10:30AM
Dine LBC is proud to co-present the film Straws (30 minutes), in its continuing effort to promote the #NoStrawLongBeach initiative to Long Beach restaurants and help educate diners on the resulting effect of using plastic straws. The film will be followed by a Q & A session with Primal Alchemy Caterer Chef Paul Buchanan, restaurateur John Sangmeister of Gladstones, and Long Beach resident Steve Rice, whose twice weekly beach walks result in a collection of thousands of discarded plastic straws every month.
Sunday, April 22 @ 11:30AM
A Plastic Ocean (2 hours), followed by a Q & A session with Long Beach Youth Panel facilitated by Algalita Marine Research Foundation
