Andrea Estrada is the Post’s advertising manager. She’s been in advertising since the age of 17 when, having just graduated from Oxnard’s Channel Islands High—Go Raiders!—she answered an ad from the local, Press-Courier for what she thought was an office job. That started a career path that has taken her from community papers, to European publications, to the Daily Breeze and Long Beach Press-Telegram, to the Post. She says what she loves about the job is “the hunt; searching for the next customer, meeting people and learning about them, figuring out their challenges and goals and figuring out a solution.” She finds it ironic that she ended up loving her career since, as a kid, she sold cookies each year as a Girl Scout and “hated it. I remember thinking to myself, I’m never going to sell anything.” Fortunately for the Post, she changed her mind. Andrea is married to Michael, a retired lifeguard; her daughter Emily attends Torrance High (Go Tartars!).
