Dubbed “Shaqtoberfest,” the event will be narrated by former NBA all-star Shaquille O’Neal and will include six Halloween-themed areas and fun for both families who want trick-or-treating and adults looking for something scarier.
Owner Sacbe Meling, a Downey native, opened the Long Beach location in April 2021.
The free event, which is expected to draw 10,000 attendees, will include aircraft on static display, live music, food and beer trucks, activities for kids and helicopter rides for purchase.
Proponents say that passage of the measure will make about $1.5 million available to local arts organizations.
