QFILMS 2012: Full Lineup Announced • Long Beach Post

This year’s QFilm Festival, the annual celluloid smorgusborg that offers some of the best short, feature-length, and documentaries in the LGBTQ filmmaking circle, has announced its complete lineup.

The festival, put forth and created by The Center Long Beach, is set to take place over the course of three days, September 14, 15, and 16. All films will show at either the Art Theatre as well as The Center itself.

Friday, September 14:

  • 7:15pm: Cloudburst (Art Theatre)
  • 8:00 to 10:00pm: Opening Night Party at The Center
  • 9:15pm: Love or Whateverfollowed by Q&A with the filmmakers and cast members (Art Theatre; Southern California Premiere)
  • 10:00pm: After Party at Paradise Bar & Grill

Saturday, September 15:

  • 12:30pm: Raid of the Rainbow Lounge*, followed by Q&A with filmmaker Robert L. Camina (Art Theatre; West Coast Premiere)
  • 1:30pm: Youth Program: Alone with Mr. Carter and Positive Youth*, followed by discussion (The Center)
  • 3:00pm: Men’s Shorts Program, followed by Q&A with available filmmakers and cast members (Art Theatre)
  • 3:30pm: Delusions of Grandeurfollowed by Q&A with the filmmakers and available cast members (The Center; LGBT Film Festival Premiere)
  • 5:15pm: Women’s Shorts Program, followed by Q&A with available filmmakers and cast members (Art Theatre)
  • 7:30pm: Mosquita y Mari, followed by Q&A with cast members (Art Theatre; read review here)
  • 8:00 to 10:00pm Saturday Night Party at The Center
  • 9:30pm: Elliot Loves (Art Theatre)
  • 10:00pm: After Party at The Silver Fox
  • 11:55pm: All-female edition of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Art Theatre)

Sunday, September 16:

  • 11:00am: Brunch with available filmmakers at The Center
  • 12:30pm: Gay Latino L.A.: Coming of Age*, preceded by short film The Bridge and followed by Q & A with the filmmaker Jonathan Menendez (Art Theatre; U.S. Premiere)
  • 1:30pm: Religious Program: The Miracles on Honey Bee Hill and Taking a Chance on God*, followed by discussion (The Center; Southern California Premiere)
  • 2:45pm: I Stand Corrected*, followed by Q & A with filmmaker Andrea Meyerson (Art Theatre)
  • 3:30pm: Unfit: Ward vs. Ward(The Center; Southern California Premiere)
  • 4:45pm: Morgan (Art Theatre)
  • 6:30pm: Kiss Me (Kyss Mig) (Art Theatre)
  • 7:30-10:00pm: Closing Night Party at The Center
  • 8:30pm: I Do, followed by Q & A with filmmaker Glenn Gaylord (Art Theatre)
