It’s officially the time of year to celebrate those who have served. And perhaps nothing is more fitting than a parade and outdoor festival dedicated to these heroes who have defended our country and helped make the U.S. what it is today.
This Saturday, November 7, Long Beach City Councilmember Rex Richardson is inviting the community to celebrate Veteran’s Day with the 19th Annual Veteran’s Day Parade and Vets Fest, which will immediately follow the parade in Houghton Park.
“We are proud to honor our Veterans who served our country so proudly and heroically,” said Councilmember Richardson in a statement. “I encourage all to attend this year’s Vets Fest to help celebrate our veterans and their families with a fun afternoon of entertainment, food, and [camaraderie].”
According to a release issued by Richardson’s office, Vets Fest, sponsored by Molina Healthcare and the Long Beach Airport, is an outdoor festival featuring free food, music and a play area for children that is meant to celebrate the lives of U.S. veterans. Rex Richardson, the Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine and the Vets Fest Resident Committee are joining forces to host the event.
A Career Expo and “Vets Club” will also be featured this year, as well as an area for veterans to rest and relax, according to a release.

- Veterans Day Parade | 10:00AM
- Vets Fest | 10:30AM
- First Band: Rock for Vets | 10:45AM
