Kat Clave was born’n’raised in Long Beach and currently attends the Art Institute of Orange County studying graphic design.

Having had shows already throughout Long Beach and Los Angeles, Clave’s interest in art has expanded into experience—a thing that someone of her youth can claim.

“Creating art has been an interest of mine that always seems to prevail everything else,” Clave said. “With this piece I chose to represent Long Beach with the unique Queen Mary landmark, and recreated lettering to bring us back to the historic steamship era.”

We believe that everyone should have access to important local news, for free.

However, it costs money to keep a local news organization like this one—independently owned and operated here in Long Beach, without the backing of any national corporation—alive.
