“James Rice has proven time and time again he knows how to handle quick wit and fast-paced scene work, like we will see in Hay Fever,” said Andrew Vonderschmitt, executive and producing artistic director of the Long Beach Playhouse in a statement. “Our audiences love a wacky comedy, which this cast and crew will deliver.”

With a cast full of Playhouse veterans as well as some new faces, the play is sure to delight and entertain theater patrons. Special events include a pay-what-you-can performance on Thursday, November 5, where the community can see the production for “whatever they can afford,” according to a release, a Two for One preview Friday, November 6 ($10 tickets), and an Opening Night Champagne Reception with the cast on Saturday, November 6 (tickets are $27).

The Playhouse is also instituting new pricing for Friday nights, with pricing for adults at $20, seniors at $18 and students at $14.
