Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital patients, employees and families put their hand-eye-coordination abilities to the test during the fun-filled “dunk-a-doc” event on Tuesday. Participants attempted to dunk their favorite doctors in a 500-gallon water tank during this kick-off fundraiser for the Fourth Annual iWalk...4 Kids, a 5K hospital-wide affair benefiting Miller Children’s.

Story continued below.

“This is such a fun event, and what better way to kick off iWalk than to dunk a few docs,” said Antoine Soliman, M.D., the medical director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Miller Children's, in a statement. He was the first doctor to be dunked at the event.

He said iWalk...4 Kids is a great way for the community to celebrate and support the hospital.

Enthusiastic patients determined who got dunked and when, and even staff members made several attempts to hit the target to send physicians plummeting into the water, to everyone's amusement.

iWalk...4 Kids raises money for critical programs, services and research initiatives that support the infants, kids, teens and expectant moms with the services only Miller Children’s can provide. Community members, doctors, nurses, former and current patients will participate in the 5K walk to raise funds for the program of their choice.

The walk will take place on Sunday, October 18 and will begin at the Queen Mary Events Park and circle over the Queensway Bridge and Shoreline Aquatic Park. The event will conclude with a family fun fest featuring games and music.

Kids 10 and under are free to participate and general admission is $25. For more information and to register, click here.
